If you were lucky enough to attend the RenderMan Art & Science fair this year (2025), you would have seen this animation proudly displayed on screens throughout the venue, guiding visitors to our demo pods.

The lessons below will take you through the steps I used to create this animating neon sign, from modelling and shading to the clever VEX code setup that creatively (randomly) controls the chasing and flashing of the bulbs.  Thank you, Damien, for helping with the VEX code!
